Started adding ’shingle’ to the carport.
The original plan was to use regular shingle , but I ended up using ‘roll shingle’ instead, basically because it is 1/5th the price, and I am not sure that I will be keeping that roof in the long run. I would rather use the $350 or so that I will save on the shingle to buy flooring for that area. After all, it’s not like it is really visible. I have had second thoughts on my choice of wood for the roof since day one… if the carport actually turns into the ‘veranda’ then I might just rip off the roofing material and replace it outright.
The vegetable garden is looking great, with the peas and the string beans really growing fast and healthy. Jose from across the street took one look and said that the plants are waaaay too close together. Need to figure out if I should transplant them or just leave ‘as-is’ for this year.
The people next door just brought over some Tamales. The girl is getting married next month and moving away… too bad, it was fun to have her there since they are always so happy, laughing and jumping and running.
